EXAMPLES OF TREATMENT MODELS I COMMONLY USE
CBT
Cognitive Behavior Therapy
CBT has practical everyday applications. This therapy can help someone understand the negativity of their thought patterns and learn how to replace them with more positive ones. Discovering new ways of looking at things helps to learn how to respond differently and improve rather than worsen stressful situations.
IFS
Internal Family Systems
The primary focus of IFS is based around the idea that every person has multiple sub-personalities which can be in conflict with each other. This can lead to problematic habits and behaviors. The goal is to help people identify and accept the different parts of themselves and heal those that are causing conflict or discomfort in the client's present life.
POLYVAGAL SOUND THERAPY
An evidence-based and trauma-informed listening therapy focused on regulating the central nervous system
Orenda is trained and certified with the Unyte Focus System, a multisensory auditory intervention, that uses specially-treated music and movement to support brain integration and skill-building for clients with sensory-motor and a range of other neurodevelopmental challenges.
SOMATIC EXPERIENCING
Integrative Trauma Interventions
Orenda's clinican is a Level One Certified Integrative Trauma Therapist through Aura Institute of Integrative Therapies. The term somatic comes from the Greek word soma, which means “body.” Somatic healing therapies fall within the spectrum of mind-body therapies, and use interventions that work with the body to access and change feelings, thoughts, and behaviors.
